Solidarity in Action: Safety + Self-Defense Workshop and Mutual Aid Fundraiser with Mollii 10/24/21

Community, AAPI Women Lead is coming back in-person for our Solidarity in Action series and we are partnering up with Tuff Love Self-Defense for a mutual-aid fundraiser!!

Tickets go on sale Tuesday, October 5th at 10:00 am PST on our Eventbrite page:

Join us Sunday October 24, 2021, at 2:00 PM in Oakland at Four Elements Fitness Gym for our first in-person event: Intro to Safety and Self-Defense with Mollii Khangsengsing, the first Laotian female black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) with 13 years of training. Intro to Safety & Self-Defense teaches awareness and preventative safety strategies. Whatever your age, experience level, or athleticism, you can learn to safely diffuse or escape from dangerous situations. At the same time, you will develop confidence to assert yourself, set boundaries, and de-escalate potential conflicts.

Access: metered parking is available on the streets and Four Elements Fitness is a 0.1 mile walk from 12th Bart Station and a 0.2 mile walk from 19th St. Bart Station. The location is also wheelchair accessible.

Space is limited! Get your tickets + learn more about the event at the Eventbrite link.

  • Sliding scale donation tickets are available

  • Open to self-identified women and girls ages 12+

  • All proceeds will go to support organizations supporting asylum seekers and refugees.

All participants will be required to show proof of vaccination. If you are unable to be vaccinated for documented religious or medical reasons, please contact us to make alternate arrangements.

If you can’t make it out to Oakland, you can still donate to our mutual-aid fundraiser through the same Eventbrite link and you can check out our previous virtual defense seminar on our YouTube channel.

We hope you can join us for our first in-person event and support our fundraiser for refugees and climate crisis mutual aid projects!
