AAPI Women Lead's Book Club: Launched!

Hey Community!

We wanted to send a little blog post for all of our blog readers that our Book Club has officially launched! We want to use the book club as a chance to slow down to learn, to root our politics in their origins, and to honor those who have paved the ways for our political ethos. We are also calling our Book Club a "collective study." What we mean when we say "collective study" is a chance to create accessible and affordable ways to learn as a community and as a form of resistance. We are reading Dean Spade's "Mutual Aid: Building Solidarity During This Crisis (And the Next!)" Spade discusses the origins of mutual aid, how to invoke the ethos and practice of mutual aid in your own organization, and how mutual aid is key to building solidarity and community strength. Mutual aid is such an important part of our work, and we will continue to be inspired by mutual aid and its origins. Our first Zoom meeting will be on March 23rd from 4:30pm-6:00pm PT/ 7:30-9:00pm ET. Head to our Eventbrite link to register and learn about how you can donate, get access to our study guide, and more! That's all for now! We are excited to meet with you all online.
